Hypopressives is a core and pelvic floor training method used extensively in Spain, Belgium and other parts of Europe as standard post-natal care. The specific system of breathing and postures works to stimulate the unconscious core; training the deep muscles to work involuntarily
Hypopressives was developed by Marcel Caufriez, a physiotherapist, in the 1980s. It consists of postures and a certain type of breathing which changes the pressure in the cavity. Hypopressive can be translated as Low Pressure. It is also a way to achieve fitness if you are unable to carry out high impact exercise such as running.
More information on hypopressives can be found at the UK Hypopressives site.
Hypopressives is beneficial to men and women of all ages. It can usually be taught in around 6 sessions - After that you have the skills for life and can continue practising on your own.
The studio is located in London N22 or a teacher may be able to travel to your home depending on location.
